Hi! My name is Debbie O’Connor.

When I first started in the industry (many years ago), I realised that most clients believed that their logo was their brand. I spent a lot of time and energy trying to educate them on branding and demonstrating that it is so much more than their logo, colours or fonts! It was tough! Super frustrating and mostly resulted in more effort from me with very little financial gain.

To help make my life easier I decided to create a system that I called Brand Personalities. I tapped into the psychology that I learnt at university and developed a word association quiz that I based on Carl Jung’s 12 Personality Archetypes.

As a brand strategist by profession and a graphic designer by trade, I now take my clients through this system every time I work with them.

The result… Firstly it creates amazing leads for my business and I get huge buy-in and engagment from my clients. They gain better understanding and appreciation of what branding is, it has increased how much I charge, and has resulted in more repeat work.

These days I mostly consult, mentor or train, so I’m not on the tools much.

But I hear so many designers share the same story – that they are undervalued and underpaid.
